On-location speech recording
I have a fully portable setup, including a Zoom F8n 8-channel recorder and four matching broadcast-quality condenser mics with table stands and pop shields – essentially a mobile radio studio in a rucksack. Two additional studio mics with stands expand capacity to six voices if needed.
For outdoor or roving recording, I use a handheld Tascam stereo recorder with windshield. I can provide location recording for podcasts, interviews, round-table discussions and more, across the UK and abroad.
Please note, I do not provide boom or location recording for TV or film.
Sample showreel
These extracts are all location recordings by me using my own microphones. The only exception is the live show The Guilty Feminist, where venue mics (typically Shure SM58s) were used alongside my stereo X-Y rig for audience capture.

Live show recording
I’ve recorded live comedy and panel shows at venues across the UK, including the London Palladium, The Pavilion Theatre Glasgow, Theatre Royal Brighton and the Royal Albert Hall. I work closely with venue sound teams and set up my own additional microphones to ensure everything, including the audience, is captured cleanly and separately.
I regularly record The Guilty Feminist (working on the show since it began in 2015) and Global Pillage at King’s Place and other venues nationwide. I’ve also recorded FOC it Up! and Elizabeth Day’s How to Fail live shows using the same setup.
Editing and mixing
I regularly edit and mix podcasts, BBC radio programmes and other audio content. After assembly, I remove “ums” and “ers,” fix long pauses, mistakes, stumbles, and generally give it a good clean up. I then mix and balance each channel separately, then add any atmos, music or stings, before final file mastering. I use loudness metering to comply with strict broadcaster and platform requirements.
I mainly use the industry-standard Pro Tools, but also SADiE 6 for some clients. My toolkit includes the powerful iZotope RX restoration suite, Waves limiting and loudness plug-ins, and Adobe Audition for mastering and conversions. All software is fully licensed.
Audiobook production
Since going freelance, I’ve produced hundreds of audiobooks for major publishers and platforms. I start by preparing the script – reading through, making notes, and meticulously researching pronunciations. For non-fiction titles, I also re-write sections so they work well as audio. I then direct and record the reader or actor in the studio, creating clear notes for the editor.
I regularly produce audiobooks in London studios, as well as remotely from home, connecting with readers across the UK, Europe and the US.
Studio engineering
I’ve spent years at the sharp end in London studios, working on a wide variety of broadcast and interactive projects. I’m happy to visit your facility and can provide recording, editing and mixing for podcasts, audio dramas, commercials, to-picture TV work, voiceovers, ADR, foreign dubbing, and much more.
